In Touch Therapies is owned and operated by local resident Jelka Slapar, a registered nurse who holds a Diploma in Acupuncture along with Certificates in Clinical Massage, Bowen Therapy and Reiki.

A member of the Bowen Therapists Association and the Society of Clinical Masseurs, Jelka has devoted her career to helping others improve their health by way of using alternative / complementary therapies such as Reiki and Bowen Therapy, and is highly experienced in both.

Bowen Therapy, developed by Tom Bowen, has been used successfully for over 50 years. It is a gentle form of systematic soft tissue stimulation which has proven to be successful in the relief of pain and mobility problems, including headaches, whiplash, back pain, joint injuries, carpal tunnel and some systemic problems. This hands on technique reduces muscular tension, and improves circulation, lymphatic and energetic flow throughout the body, and is suitable for people of all ages.

Reiki is an ancient form of hands on healing which incorporates the use of one's own energy field to assist in healing many bodily ailments. The technique originated in Japan and has been used since the 1800's to relieve emotional and physical problems associated with the body. It is also a great form of relaxation therapy.
